Primavera Enerprise Implementation

In 2004, United Utilities, one of the UK's largest utilities companies, performed a major business process and technology change to bring project management practices in-house. The scope of the implementation included investment, program, project, and contract management.
The complete Primavera Enterprise suite (including Project Management, myPrimavera, Portfolio Analyst, Timesheets and Methodology Manager) was implemented. Custom integrations were developed with SAP and Ellipse Asset Management System, and custom components were developed to support regulatory reporting. The final stage of the implementation was completed in April 2005, in time for the next government regulated 5-year asset management plan to begin. United Utilities now manages all capital projects in Primavera, which will build up to $5.5B in projects for this asset management period.
EcoSys consultants, as Primavera subcontractors, led this large implementation effort in multiple areas:
- Plan and scope entire Primavera Enterprise suite rollout
- Conduct requirements gathering sessions & design appropriate solutions in Primavera
- Work with process experts to implement 25+ program and project methodologies in Primavera
- Provide Primavera technical expertise to developers in designing and developing 2-way integration of project and cost data with SAP and integration with Ellipse Asset Management system
- Provide Primavera technical expertise to developers producing custom interfaces and reports for regulatory data capture and reporting
- Design and document extensive Primavera procedures based on user role
- Assist training development team in design of custom training
- Provide rollout planning and support
