Primavera 25th Annual Conference

November 16-19,2008

Primavera will host its 25th Annual Conference at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. During this event, EcoSys and its customers will present the following topics:

A Complete Capital Planning and Program Management Approach for a UK Utility

The government regulations in the UK utilities industry force companies to continually innovate new efficiencies in order to achieve commercial success. United Utilities, a leading water and electricity utility, attributes innovations in program controls and financial management as a key factor for success in their current 5-year, 3.5 billion pound ($6.8B) asset management plan.

In this presentation, Helen Edwards of United Utilities and Neely Hemassi of EcoSys will discuss UU's integrated end-to-end solution for Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, and Program & Project Controls through Primavera P6 and EcoSys Financial Manager.

Leveraging Primavera and EcoSys FM for Better IT Financial Management at SunTrust Banks

Managing the work within IT is an important key to organizational success. This presentation addresses additional success factors, such as aligning project spend to IT strategic goals, tying project financial performance to the IT annual budget, allocating and cost center budgets across multiple projects, capturing SOP 98-1 costs in an automated fashion, tracking cost center chargebacks, integrating with existing financial systems, delivering enterprise financial reporting, and improving the project-related financial processes. SunTrust Bank has addressed these factors through the combination of P5 and EcoSys Financial Manager, and as a result has provided a three-fold benefit of improved financial visibility, financial controls, and financial accuracy. Tom Brown of EcoSys and Christina Critzer of SunTrust Banks will co-present.

Project Cost Management: Surviving the Bean Counters

Managing project costs is an important component of total project management. Taking on this area of project management is a noble cause, but many times results in conflict between the well-intentioned project manager and teh penny-pinching-ivory-tower-bean-counting finance and accounting folks (of which the presenter has been both). The gap between project management and financial management can be navigated using Primavera, even if you have not implemented additional Primavera components. This presentation covers the essentials of what a P6 user should do, and the things to avoid, in maintaining a consistent financial representation of the project schedule. Tom Brown of EcoSys will present.

Leveraging Primavera Project Management to fulfill Financial Management Strategies

How can an IT department utilize Primavera project data to solve their financial management requirements? This case study discusses how Guardian Life Insurance strategically draws on Primavera Enterprise and financial management tools to successfully address the following financial goals: software capitalization, top-down budgeting, IT chargebacks, past period cost adjustments and financial reporting. Matthew Friedman of EcoSys will present.
